Local train generate energy while applying breaks?

Local train generate electricity while applying brakes? 


 Basic principle of local train:
        Local train does not have engine as express train. Local train have motors after every Three coaches.

 Why Regenerative Breaking?

  When train is in motion. The train have inertia and if train applied physical breaks then all inertia (Potential Energy) wastage in the friction energy so there is no use of energy while applying break. To utilise this potential energy regenerative breaking is used.


 What is a regenerative Breaking?

    When loco pilot want to reduce the speed or stop the local train, he applied regenerative breaks the physical break to wheel not applied.

In regenerative Breaking wheels of train get coupled to train motors. As driver applied regenerative Breaking motor start acting like a generator and train potential is used to rotate motor through train wheels and slowly train speed reduces, and a motor came in motion it's act's like a generator and produce electricity. This generated electric energy feed again into system.

 So inertial (Potential Energy) of train is converted in to electrical energy
