Had you ever think what is mean by AC unit "TON"?

  When we go to buy AC. The salesman always explains the configuration of AC. In that capacity of AC always measured in tons. That is 1 TON or 2 TON AC. So what is the meaning of TON? Why AC capacity always measures in TON?

   As power unit is measured in Horsepower like that 1 ton of AC will provide cooling  equals to 1 TON of ice sheets in your room.

If you put 1 ton of ice sheets in your room in will provide cooling to 1 ton of AC.
